Other Ways to Give

Moffitt Cancer Center doctor with patient

With the power to fuel innovation and discovery in cancer treatments, while also providing financial stability through economic downturns and ebbs in government funding, endowments are another popular option for donors wishing to make a difference for years to come.

Endowed Chairs

A distinguished chair at Moffitt is a prestigious and coveted honor for the recipient, as well as an opportunity for the donor to establish a permanent named legacy at Moffitt. The endowed fund also provides critical annual income to be used by the distinguished chair to support groundbreaking research and treatment in the program he or she leads.

Reserved for the most eminent researchers and clinicians at Moffitt, as determined by the institution, the official title of Distinguished Chair and the use of the funds from the endowment will be awarded ex officio to the faculty member while serving in his or her leadership role. All successors to that leadership role will be accorded the same.

Additional endowment opportunities

Gifts of any size, including bequests, can be directed to the general endowment as unrestricted funds used to support Moffitt’s areas of greatest need. There may also be an existing endowment that reflects your interests and to which you can add your support. Donors who have established endowment funds in the past can continue making gifts to them over time, allowing the fund to grow. The larger a fund is, the more impact it can have each year. You may invest in the Foundation’s endowment to support Moffitt Cancer Center’s critical mission with gifts of cash, property and stock, as well as with funds from bequests, trusts and annuities.

Carefully invested, each charitable contribution can have an impact over time that far exceeds the gift’s initial value with an annual portion of the endowment providing generous and lasting resources.

Naming the Moffitt Foundation as the beneficiary of a certificate of deposit, a checking or savings bank account, or a brokerage account is one of the easiest ways to bring hope and help for future generations of patients in need.

You may transfer funds from your Donor Advised Fund to the Moffitt Foundation.

Gifts from Donor Advised Funds

Establishing a memorial or tribute gift is a meaningful way to honor a loved one or celebrate a special occasion while supporting our lifesaving mission. Your gift of recognition is a generous gesture that will be cherished by loved ones while it helps fund critical programming affecting the lives of countless patients along their journey with cancer.

Moffitt is committed to recognizing your philanthropic investment in advancing lifesaving care for patients in need. With the expansion campaign come many prominent naming opportunities for donors offering gifts of $25,000 and above. By naming a space or program area, your living tribute can be seen and inspire the patients, families, and team members that your philanthropy is helping.

These include:

Facilities namings of iconic Moffitt spaces such as entire campuses, individual buildings, clinical floors, lobbies and waiting rooms, patient or exam rooms, research labs, and more.

Unit namings of Moffitt’s expansive program areas, such as institutes, Centers of Excellence, departments, and specific research or clinical projects.
